Syrian (Za’atar)
Description: Syrian thyme is a popular spice blend in the Middle East. It consists of a combination of ground herbs and spices, and its composition varies according to regional specialties and secret family recipes. The word “thyme” can also be used to refer to the individual herbs involved in the mixture also known as Syrian thyme or wild thyme.
Flavor: The flavor of thyme can be described as a combination of acidic, grassy, earthy, lemony, and nutty. There are two types of thyme: green thyme and red thyme, the main difference being the ratio of green herbs to red sumac.

Sesame seeds.
Sumac, a distinctive ingredient in thyme.
